Sara Pimental is a Twin Cities-based illustrator and writer with an MFA in Creative Writing for Children and Young Adults from Hamline University. She is a Teach For America alum and holds a bachelor’s degree in Multicultural Studies from Concordia University, St. Paul, where she minored in Writing and competed as an NCAA Division II athlete.
A self-taught illustrator working in mixed media and digital formats, Sara has collaborated with clients like Aunt Fannie's and NGS. Her writing has appeared in Artful Living and the Star Tribune. Her work focuses on children’s storytelling, visual narrative, and emotional truth. Her newsletter–Mild Things–has over 1000 monthly views on Substack.
